First access is slow

ObjectStore resolves the host name to the IP address when it accesses a database. If the DNS system is faulty or incomplete, the resolution takes several seconds or even minutes.

HOSTS file

The DNS system can be bypassed by an entry in the HOSTS file (C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts). The server on which the database is located must be entered in this file. If this does not help, the client must also be entered.

Alternatively, the link to other databases (cross database pointers) can be changed with the osaffiliate programme.
